Writing is tough. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or a newbie who’s just started on their writing journey, it can feel like trying to squeeze blood from a stone. But writing creatively takes things to a whole new level — it’s like trying to squeeze blood from a particularly stubborn stone that has a mind of its own.

So what’s the secret to tapping into your inner creativity? Well, after years of stumbling through the process, there are a few key things I’ve learned and would like to share.

Vulnerability

Be willing to take risks and be vulnerable. Yeah, I know, that sounds terrifying. Believe me, I’ve spent many nights staring at a blank page, too afraid to commit my deepest thoughts to paper. But you probably already know the best writing comes from a place of honesty and vulnerability. So take a deep breath, swallow your fear, and write from the heart.
